Terms for a simple reading tool.
By installing or using Transcript Study View, you agree to these terms.
What the tool does
Study View reformats official transcript text that a supported source page already makes available to you. It preserves source attribution and timestamps. It does not provide media downloads, new transcription, summaries, or rewritten content.
Your responsibilities
Use the extension only with content you are permitted to access and follow the source platform’s terms. Transcript copyright and ownership remain with the source and its rights holders. The local reading surface does not grant rights to republish or redistribute a transcript.
Availability
The extension is provided free of charge and “as is.” Source sites can change their transcript interfaces, and some videos or talks may not provide a transcript. We do not promise uninterrupted compatibility or that browser-provided text-to-speech will be available on every device.
No warranty
To the extent permitted by law, the software is provided without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from its use.
Open-source license
The software source is available under the MIT License. These service terms do not limit rights granted by that license.
Changes
We may update these terms as the product changes. The current effective date will always appear above. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms.
